Anyone who creates or edits job requisitions on TalentLink will be familiar with the question "Internal/External?" where there are four options:

  • External - Jobs to display in the front end search and visible to all potential candidates and feeds.
  • Internal - Jobs are hidden from front end search however can pull in certain feeds for intranet use. Employees should be provided with a link to access internal jobs. (this is in no way connected to their myjobscotland account or email address used to apply for jobs. We always recommend candidates use their personal email addresses for job applications)
  • Redeployment - Works similar to internal.
  • Ring-fenced - Hidden from all searches and feeds. Only accessible by the direct link to the job.

The easiest way to generate your organisations URL’s is to go on to myjobscotland> Search Organisations > select your organisation > Click on your “Jobs” microsite

This will display all of your current “external” positions and the URL will currently look something like this:- https://www.myjobscotland.gov.uk/organisations/cosla/jobs

In the URL following jobs, you can add a short key to change the display depending what you want to see:

  • To view INTERNAL ONLY add “ /mjs_int ” this will redirect you to “/jobs?=internal”
  • To view INTERNAL and EXTERNAL add “ /mjsint “ this will redirect you to “/jobs?=internal,external”
  • To view INTERNAL, EXTERNAL and REDEPLOYMENT add “ /ier “ which will redirect to “/jobs?=internal,external,redeployment”

Ring-fenced jobs will never show in a search or feed and can only be accessed by using the direct link to the advert. You can get the direct link to any advert from TalentLink (you will need to wait until after the import has run)

  1. Go to the job
  2. Go to the posting tab
  3. click on the eye icon
